Tennis Betting-How to Net A Profit
Tennis betting is often overlooked by people who have an interest in sports betting, but it provides a good opportunity for bettors to get a winning return on their stakes.
As tennis is very much an individual sport-apart from doubles matches of course-anyone placing a bet on a tennis match doesn’t have to take into account things like team dynamics or selections. All the bettor has to do is look at a player’s current form and fitness and look at the stats to see if he has performed well at the tournament before and if he is suited to the surface the match is being played on. If the answer is yes to all of the questions you’ve just asked, then the player should be put on your list of potential winners
Betting tennis tournaments has plenty of advantages for the bettor. Only a limited number of players start a tournament (usually 64 in the first round of a Grand Slam event). There is a seeding system already in place used by the LTA which gives a good guide to the bettor who the better players are.
Another advantage with a tennis match bet is there can only be two outcomes…a winner and a loser. There is no worry of the match ending in a tie, so with one outcome out of the equation it makes evaluating a probable result easier.
Tennis is definitely one sport where form counts for a lot. If a player is in form it is worth supporting them in tournaments and betting them to win matches until their form starts to dip, by that time you should have made a nice little profit.
As well as being able to place bets on the outright results of tournaments, other bets are also available. Betting on who wins individual matches, how many sets a player will win in a match, the number of points a player wins, how many aces in a match and whole bunch of other bets are all available to bet on.
Form works out well in a lot of tournaments-especially in the men’s game-and betting on top seeds in the early rounds can bring nice winnings. Shock results do happen sometimes and like all sports players suddenly emerge into the limelight who have had little or no previous form, but on the whole a high percentage of seeded players do win.
Although the prices on seeded players can be pretty short in the first round of a tournament (unless two seeds are playing each other) it is relatively easy to pick out winners. Placing single bets as well as combining some of the top seeds in multiple bets and accumulators is a good way of building up some profits to either use in the latter stages of the tournament, or to establish a betting bank.
If you have never tried tennis betting then you should seriously consider it as it really can net you some nice profits.
